Clay Aiken

So.... I was just wandering on youtube like...you know... a creeper. But after I exhausted all my normal channels, I got distracted by old Scrubs clips. And one in particular is my favorite. It's the sitcom one with the talent show...the one that Clay Aiken guest stars in. Now, I didn't know who Clay Aiken was. I never watch American Idol or anything, so I had just heard his name around; never with a face. And when he sings Isn't She Lovely, I am just blown away. Every time I hear it, I feel so amazed. And then after a certain number of connections I made in my mind, I realized that 'Kenny' from the episode was actually Clay Aiken. I then proceeded to search Clay Aiken on the site for different songs. I've listened to Bridge Over Troubled Waters about 20 times, and Build Me Up Buttercup, and To Love Somebody, and Unchained Melody....ect...ect. I dont know how I didn't know who he was before. He is one of the most talented singers I know of... I absolutely love his voice and I can say that very soon, my zune (yeah I know...its no ipod) will be full of his singing.

New Moon

So I saw New Moon last night and I thought it was amazing. Even if you didn't read the books, I felt like the movie was amazing. It was so much better than the first movie. The first one, I had to watch 3 times before I could admit I even liked it. This one, I absolutely loved. Hands down. While still some of the acting is a bit...eh.... I felt it stuck enough to the story, and what did come directly out of the book was perfect. No cheesy 'Hold on spidermonkey' line or anything.

Also, probably the whole Taylor Lautner being in the movie and being half-naked most of the time did add to my liking. I must admit that there were times in the movie that I wasn't paying attention to the dialogue and was just watching him. I missed the part where he promises Bella not to hurt her. Also, the part where he rips off his shirt when Bella's head is bleeding was so sudden and unexpected that I was first stunned, and then proceeded to giggle uncontrollably.

And me and my best friend realized something at the same time. This really is a spoiler to anyone who hasn't read Breaking Dawn yet though, so you might want to stop reading now.
When Alice shows Aro Bella's future, and it is a vision of Bella running through the woods with Edward, it's the part right after she transforms and they go hunting. I'm 100% positive about that. No one else in the theater seemed to get that though. But I got goosebumps down my arm because that was sooooo unexpected and absolutly perfect. The reason I'm so sure that that's what it is showing is because Bella is in a blue dress. Exactly how I pictured her blue dress in Breaking Dawn. What do you think?

gah

Three words.

I Love Drama.

One word: NOT!

ACCEPTED! ...and laser tagging

So I applied to the University of New Haven this weekend,(actually, yesterday) and just got an e-mail saying that I have been ACCEPTED! Oh my God. That feels so good. I was so nervous that I wasn't going to get in. I'm actually shocked that I heard back so soon. My friend applied to the same school a few weeks ago and heard back in just under two weeks while I heard just over 24 hours after I applied. Whatever, I'm not complaining. I'm so excited, I can't even seem to find words to describe. OK...so here's the best thing that I can do to describe how happy I am about this:
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure it's my top school, and I'm just so relieved. I was starting to get really attached to the school and its programs. You know what probably happened? They didn't look at my application. They saw my name, and looked up their student store records and saw that I have bought a shitload of stuff from them. haha nahh. But honestly, I HAVE bought a lot of stuff from their store. I have a sweatshirt and sweatpants from them. Plus I've visited their school twice, so I have two tshirts from them. I also have a small gym bag that I won at a visit for knowing who the Pope was. =D

(and here's another story that I didn't feel like making a new post for. So you can think of this as a double feature kind of thing.....)
Oh and so yesterday I went laser tagging with my youth group and it was the first time I've gone in about.... 5 or 6 years. So I basically had no idea what I was doing. BUT! I did pretty good! We had 3 games and I came in 7th during the first round, 14th the second and 9th the third. The second game sucked because I was on a crappy team. All the good warrior players were on the other team and I'm pretty sure there was something wrong with my laser pack. (It never seemed to fire straight) Whatever, I still had a hell of a time.
Actually, during the first game, I was still getting the lay of the field, and since it was dark, I couldn't really see where I was going. But I was walking - running, really - and I was going through the maze-like area and there were a bunch of walls facing random ways. So it's kind of not surprising that in the darkness I ran into a wall with my shoulder. My left shoulder banged into an unseen outcropping, and the force of it spun me around and I tripped to my right, banging my right elbow on the next wall over. Needless to say, I have a nasty bruise on my left arm.
And, in the same round, the belt-thing that connected the back pack to the front pack was twisted, so it gave me rug burn on my right elbow. Isn't that lovely? Two injuries in one game. But I was proud of myself. There were about 20 people in the game and I did better than most of them in those two games.... (The one when I came in 14th place doesn't count, by the way =D)

But so there's my update for now. Band season ends this Saturday, and it makes me sad. But! I did join indoor percussion, so that's something new and fun. I'm on cymbals and apparently we get to dance and sing....oh joy.......-_-

Anyway, I'll be seeing you all around. DFTBA

1:30am

So it's like 1:30 am on Wednesday morning. And I thought I'd just do a quickie post.

I just finished an AP Bio lab that's due today. Yeah...I've been working on it since 6:00pm. Granted, I did get distracted and I did fall asleep for an hour, but still... that time is wayyyy too long for my liking. But I'm proud of myself. For once I didn't break down. I kept way calm and did the whole thing. The only time I was getting upset was when I was about to fall asleep. I had felt like I was about to throw up and I couldn't keep my eyes open. So I set my alarm for an hour later and next thing I know I've slept through the alarm and its an hour and a half later. At least it was only a half hour extra. So I woke up at 10:30ish. And I've felt perfectly fine since then. Sure my eyelids are heavy, but they're not drooping which is good.

But I thought I'd just pop in and say hello.... even though no one follows me.... awesome.

NaNoWriMo and Catching Lame...I mean Fire

Hey guys. So some of you guys know that november is the month of NaNoWriMo. And for those of you who dont know, its basically taking the month of november and trying to write a 5000 word novel. And I'm going to do it. Well....try, at least. I only just found out about this today, but I started a story about 5 days ago and only really got a page done, so I figure that I can use that because it substitutes for yesterday's work.... The only difficulty is the fact that I have no time at all. With band, AP bio, and antioch, i only have maybe a grand total of 7 hours a week for my own time, and now i'm adding nanowrimo into it. Whatever. I'll try.

And while on the topic of books... my update on my process of Catching Fire. (NOTE: spoilers.)

So like I said before, I absolutely loved Hunger Games. LOVED it. I thought it was very fast pace and had the right mix of romance and action. And the ending broke my heart. And so I get Catching Fire and I'm so excited. I want to know what's going to happen. Poor Peeta and what's this about supposed rebellion? So reading Catching Fire, I'm going and going and thinking, 'well, you know..be beginning of books are always a bit slow.' And to tell you the truth, Katniss, who I could really identify with is really starting to piss me off. Our characteristics are still similar, but she needed to pick a freaking boy and be done with it. This whole going back and forth thing was starting to bother me. And then she decides to run away when she meets people heading to district 13. And I'm like, 'YES! Finally a plot line!' but no. No. I was wrong. I'm sure it has to do with the plot later, but I'm not at that point yet. Right after she finds that out, she's confined into the district and Gale (which by the way, I cant get over the name, being as its a freaking girl's name) is injured. And now she has to marry Peeta whether she likes it or not, and there's no escape. And then they take pictures. Blah blah blah. The first half of the book was so boring that if I hadn't noticed it was the whole first half, I probably would have put it down.

And then I could see it coming. I just knew. I didn't want it to, but it happened. Katniss and Peeta are headed back into the arena. How predictable? I'm mixed about this. I don't want this to happen because I really can put myself into the minds and feelings of the characters, and I feel along with them and I just know Peeta isn't going to make it out alive, and also because it doesn't seem to have that strong and origional a story line. On the other hand, I'm glad they're going in the games because its actually just a little bit of excitement. The way its going through with it though, is just so boring. Yeah, I don't want to go through with everything that happened last time again, because the redundancy would be worse, but still.

So I guess what I'm saying is that I'm bored. I'm unimpressed so far. I know it gets good at the end, and I hope its so freaking amazing that it makes up for the first half of the book, because I'm honestly starting to not want to read it so often. I'm going to go through with it, but I'm really just disappointed.
